Celebrating Successes in Surrey!
The Surrey Greenspace Project was pleased to host the Surrey Wildlife Trust’s Chairman’s Reception at the Lightbox in Woking. We enjoyed showcasing the wonderful events that have been on offer to schools and communities in Guildford, Woking and Merstham, and the news was well received by Mayors, councilors and High Sheriffs from across the county. Year 7 students from the Park School in Woking demonstrated the skills they learned during their Forest School course at Pyrford Common and presented a video of the things they did. We were also very happy to reveal our newly decorated van, emblazoned with logos drawn by students from Bishop David Brown School, who also attended the reception to receive their competition prizes from the Mayor of Woking. It is hoped that this event will raise the profile of the work done by the trust and sow the seeds of the hunt for future funding for similar projects.
